FISHING TRIPS

Fishing Trips, Pacific Fin II
Fishing Trips, Pacific Fin II

Halibut fishing is exciting because it is a longer range trip (40 to 50 miles), and the fish get big! It is not uncommon to catch halibut over 40 pounds. This trip is physically demanding with a longer ride, and fishing in water depths up to 750 feet. When weather and time permit we can also try for deepwater lingcod. Trip will leave between 5:00AM and 6:00AM depending on weather and tides.

2022 Season
Thursdays: May 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
Sundays: May 8th, 15th, 22nd
Departures: 4:30 to 5:30 AM
Limits: One Halibut (plus two Lingcod or seven Rockfish) up to a ten fish limit. If Quota remains we may have additional dates later in August and September.

Season opens on Saturday, March 12. We will be targeting Rockfish and there is a seven fish limit per person. Exciting news this year is that we will be allowed to retain Canary Rockfish in our daily seven fish limit. We will fish for Lingcod on these trips as well; there is a two fish limit per person.

Early in the year Lingcod can be very exciting. Rockfish handling fee is $10.00 per person. Trips leave the dock between 5:30AM and 6:30AM.

Limited dates! Deepwater lingcod trips will target large lingcod and rockfish. It’s been many years since we have been able to fish for these tasty deepwater treat (other than a few days during Halibut opens). Long range trips from 20 to 50 miles from Westport. Deepwater trips available during the first 2 weeks of June and full month of September only. I am also happy to say that Canary Rockfish (but not Yellow Eye) which have been off limits for years are now rebuilt and available to us in the Rockfish limit. This great news! Trips depart between 5:30AM and 6:30AM.
